New LED lighting at Flanders Expo: a sustainable choice

With the introduction of LED lighting systems, we at Flanders Expo are taking a major green step forward. Through this innovative upgrade, which reduces our CO2 emissions by no less than 144 tons per year, we aim to once again emphasize our broader commitment to sustainable events.

Net Zero Carbon Events pledge

As part of the Easyfairs Group, we are committed to the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge, a crucial initiative in the fight against climate change. Our goal? To be completely energy neutral by 2050 and to halve our CO2 emissions by 2030. Through the implementation of LED lighting and other sustainable initiatives at Flanders Expo, such as solar panels and waste management, we contribute to this global effort.

LED lighting: more than just a bright idea

This upgrade results in a remarkable energy saving of 51% compared to our previous lighting system, and an annual reduction of no less than 144 tons of CO2 emissions in the lighting installation of the halls.

In addition, we are convinced that the installed LED lighting systems are not only more sustainable and efficient but also offer many benefits. For instance, we installed approximately 5,850 meters of advanced light lines that we can seamlessly adapt to the needs of organizers. In this way, we create the perfect environment for every occasion!

Building a sustainable future

At Flanders Expo and Easyfairs Belgium, we are proud of our dedication to a sustainable event sector. For years, we have been committed to providing a versatile, environmentally friendly environment for a wide range of events, from trade fairs and congresses to concerts and cultural events.
